Manly paddlers have just returned from successfully contesting the 2011 State Championships !
Every one of our competing paddlers has returned home with a medal, in some cases several medals; each varying in colour from bronze, silver & gold - yes GOLD x 2; covering Premier to Grandmasters Divisions! What a monumental improvement from our per-formance last year when only our Grandmasters returned home with 2 x Bronze medals.
Firstly, I need to thank all the State Crew for their absolute dedication to training. We have put in 100's of hours on the water. In re-cent weeks our crews have been training on water up to 5 times per week, practicing to gel as teams and commit to each other. Suc-cess does not come without hard work, toughness & self belief!
As promised, to honour all this hard work we approached the 2011 State Championships with the view of only putting our strongest teams forward; to battle it out on water for maximum glory and medals!
