Manly Represented at National Titles - April 2008 The Australian National Dragon Boat Championships were recently held in Perth, WA from April 9-12, 2008.   Three members from the Manly Dragons were selected to be part of the Queensland team competing in the State v State 500m races. Congratulations to Jill Praeger, Maggie and Ross Boyce who represented Queensland in the Masters Ladies and Masters Mixed races.
This is an outstanding achievement for such a new club and we look forward to learning from their experience as we prepare to enter our Club in the national titles next year when this event will be hosted at Lake Kawana on the Sunshine Coast.   A number of Queensland Clubs also entered teams in the National Club Championships and will be looking to qualify for the Asian Championships to be held in Penang, Malaysia later in the year.   The Queensland team raced on day one of the regatta and achieved a silver medal in the masters mixed category and a bronze for the masters ladies events - well done Queensland.
